URGENT CHANGE IN REUNION PLANS

I am very sorry to announce that poor ticket sales have forced me to cancel the Aug. 1 reunion dinner. The Aug. 2 reunion BBQ noon to 4 p.m. at Municipal Park will go on as planned. If you have purchased dinner tickets, please e-mail me for a refund at briannabailey80@hotmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Let me know if you want a full refund or if you want me to hold some of your money for BBQ tickets.
Many people cited the high cost of dinner tickets for not attending. I also think the high cost of gas and airline tickets this summer has contributed to the low ticket sales.
Please consider still attending the BBQ. It will be a lot of fun and I think turnout will be fair.
The deadline to buy BBQ tickets is 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time Wednesday, July 23.
We will gather for a family-style barbecue at Municipal Park noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 2. There will be inflatables for the kids.

Ticket deadline extended

We have had a tremendous amount of ticket sales over the past few days! Many people waited until the last minute to purchase reunion tickets, so I am extending the deadline to buy tickets to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday July 23 to make sure everyone has a chance to buy tickets.

My daugther, Thora Claire Bailey, was born a little after midnight July 12. She was 9 pounds, 2 ounces when she was delivered and is healthy and beautiful. I had to have an unplanned c-section and am still recovering, but I am monitoring ticket sales and continuing to wrapping up reunion plans. I am slowly trying to respond to all my e-mail, so please be patient if you don't hear back from me right away. We still need volunteers. E-mail me at briannabailey80@hotmail.com for details.

Here is ticket information. We will reunite for a buffet dinner, drinks, music and more at the Rose Room 7 p.m. Aug. 1 , 718 W. Idaho St.
Tickets for this event are $75 PER PERSON. Dress is semi-formal. There will be a cash bar, as well as free beer on a first-come, first serve basis. Awards will be given to alumni in a variety of categories.

We will meet again for a family-style barbecue at Municipal Park the afternoon of Aug. 2. There will be inflatables for the kids including bounce houses, sumo wrestling (for the big kids) and lots of other fun activities. Bring your families!
Tickets are $10.00/person for the BBQ, $18.00/ couple, and $25.00/ family of 3 or more.
Tickets may be purchased through paypal.com. My account is under brianna.bailey@latimes.com. Please save your reciept.

Christina Farnsworth Mourant

Christina Farnsworth Mourant, passed away unexpectedly at age 28 on July 8, 2008 at her home in Paris, Idaho. She was born April 6, 1980 in Boise, Idaho to Doyle and Cindy Farnsworth. She was the fourth of seven children. Christina was raised in Boise and attended school there, graduating from Borah High School in 1998. She met Rod Mourant when she was 21, and immediately knew he was "the one". They were married July 20, 2002 in the Boise Idaho Temple. Most of their married life was spent in Boise, but for a nine month period in 2007, they lived in Orlando, Fla., and since then, in Paris, Idaho. Christina is leaving behind for now, the love of her life, and her two sweet children, Maggie and Andrew. Others of her immediate family surviving her are her parents, Doyle and Cindy Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho, and her siblings, Wendy and Barry Bleazard of Meridian, Idaho, Taylor and Jill Farnsworth of Caldwell, Idaho, Julie and Wil Graham of Flagstaff, Arizona, Spencer and Erica Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho and Andrew Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho. Christina was full of life and love and spread sunshine wherever she went. As one recent friend said, "She exuded the light of Christ." Her sense of humor truly captivated every soul she met. She faithfully served as a worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women’s organizations. Among her finest accomplishments were those of being an incredible wife and mommy. Her talents are not lost but are blessing the lives of others in yet another sphere as she awaits the reuniting with her family and friends. She is now in the company of loved ones preceding her in death: her grandparents Kent and Mary Farnsworth and Alva and Donna Leithead and a very special sister, Angela Farnsworth. Funeral services in her honor will be held at both the Paris, Idaho LDS chapel on Saturday July 12, 2008 at noon with a viewing beforehand from 10 to 11:45 a.m. and also in Boise, Idaho at the LDS chapel at 2650 S. Five Mile on Tuesday July 15, 2008 at noon with a viewing beforehand from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Why the reunion is doomed without your help

Hey, guys
The reunion is still planned for Aug. 1 and 2- only one month away! The deadline to buy tickets, July 18, is getting closer and closer.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased tickets at paypal.com already.
Your reunion organizer-- that's me-- lives in Southern California and is 8 1/2 months pregnant right now, so I won't be able to attend the reunion. We need your help to have a successful reunion. Right now I only have one or two people who have shown interest in volunteering, which means our reunion is in danger of being a big flop without your help. I won't be there to help run things. If your parents still live in the Boise area, please consider asking them to volunteer as well.
Here is a list of things we need volunteers for. Most of these things are not too labor intensive. I just need people who are willing to commit themselves to the job.
Please e-mail me if you can help, briannabailey80@hotmail.com.

1) greeters to check off attendees as they arrive and make and pass out name tags at the Aug. 1 dinner and Aug. 2 barbecue. This would be fun for someone who wants to make sure they get a chance to talk to everyone as they arrive.
2) People to decorate the Rose Room before the Aug. 1 dinner event. This would be a lot of fun for creative people.
3) Cooks for the Aug. 2 barbecue-- we need people to flip burgers at the barbecue, hopefully we can get enough people to work a few shifts
4) I would really like someone to create a Power Point slide show of alumni photographs for the Aug. 1 dinner event. This would entail collecting alumni-submitted digital photos, compiling them into a slide show and obtaining and setting up a projector at the dinner venue. This would be good for a creative, tech-savvy person.
5) I would like to get someone to volunteer to call local businesses to get prizes donated for the dinner event. I also would like to get someone willing to be in charge of announcing alumni award winners and passing out prizes at the dinner. I hope to be able to pass out prizes in a variety of categories, such as most changed, most kids, farthest traveled away from home, etc. This will not happen without volunteers.
6) We also need people to help clean up and tear things down after both the dinner and the barbecue.
If you haven't done so yet, please purchase tickets at paypal.com under my account, brianna.bailey@latimes.com.
Ticket prices and reunion information is available here on our class blog or at our myspace group: groups.myspace.com/borah98.
Don't forget to fill out an alumni survey, which will be used to hand out alumni prizes! The survey also is available at the myspace group or on the blog.
